Pakistan’s diplomacy resonates globally

ISLAMABAD, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 10th Apr, 2026) President Islamabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ICCI), Sardar Tahir Mehmood, on Friday said Pakistan has played its role effectively in facilitating the recent ceasefire between the United States and Iran.

In a press statement, he said it was reflecting the country’s growing stature as a responsible and credible mediator on the global stage.

Welcoming the visiting delegates and stakeholders he expressed optimism that their engagements will yield results in form of a permanent ceasefire leading to wider peace and tranquility.

He noted that Islamabad, through its sincere and timely efforts, helped create a conducive diplomatic environment that paved the way for de-escalation and dialogue between the two sides.

Sardar Tahir Mehmood expressed confidence that Pakistan would now emerge from being merely a facilitator of ceasefire to an enabler of a durable and lasting agreement, contributing meaningfully to long-term regional stability and peace.

He emphasized that this achievement was made possible through calibrated diplomacy and effective adaptation to the evolving geopolitical situation.

The civilian leadership engaged actively with global capitals to build consensus for de-escalation, while the military leadership maintained effective channels with key stakeholders, particularly in Washington, ensuring a cohesive and unified national effort.

The business community, he said, fully supports all initiatives aimed at promoting peace and reducing tensions, as stability remains essential for sustainable economic growth.

He hoped that Pakistan would continue to play a constructive and leading role in global peace efforts and would firmly emerge as an enabler of long-term diplomatic solutions, reinforcing its position as a responsible and influential player on the world stage.
