Pakistan's role globally appreciated as honest broker of peace talks

ISLAMABAD, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 13th Apr, 2026) Pakistan Ambassador to Russian Federation Faisal Niaz Tirmizi Monday said Pakistan has been widely appreciated in the global capitals as the honest broker of peace talks between the US and Iran and emerged as the sole net security provider in the entire region.

In an interview with national tv channel, the ambassador said the credit for the strong diplomacy rooted deep in pursuance of peace went to the current country’s leadership including the prime minister, the field marshal and the deputy prime minister and foreign minister.

He highlighted that Pakistan’s diplomacy had always played a pro-active role on various global issues in the past including bridging the differences between China and the US. Tirmizi said Pakistan had a consistent stance for peace and worked for cooperation with major world capitals including Moscow for the regional stability.

In recent Islamabad Talks, it emerged as an honest broker between US and Iran because it was the highest level of face to face diplomacy between the high level delegations of two parties, he said, adding these peace negotiations provided a sigh of relief for the entire world.

The ambassador referring to his recent interactions with the Russian authorities said that they also appreciated Pakistan’s role and hoped the initiative would ensure a lasting peace in the region.

Pakistan has kept the honest channels of communications and showed its earnest desire that the conflict should not expand to Gulf countries, he said, adding Islamabad was the only capital that had opened the channels between the two countries.

The Arab countries also appreciated Pakistan for its principled stance, its neutrality and its new image as net security provider to the entire region, he added.
