ISLAMABAD, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 12th Apr, 2026) Punjab Minister for Information and Culture Azma Bokhari assured on Sunday that Pakistan remained open to all faiths, with robust security measures ensuring that Sikh pilgrims can perform their religious duties without fear or disruption.
While speaking to a local media channel, Azma Bokhari highlighted the longstanding tradition of hospitality that Punjab extends to Sikh yatrees (pilgrims).
She emphasized that the province has always been dedicated to providing the best possible experience for visitors, ensuring their comfort and safety.
This year, she assured, every effort will be made to continue this legacy, with special attention given to the needs and well-being of Sikh pilgrims.
Bokhari also reiterated Pakistan's commitment to fostering a peaceful and inclusive environment, where people of all faiths can practice their religion freely.
She stressed that the government was fully committed to offering Sikh pilgrims a welcoming atmosphere, with top-notch security and supported to help them perform their religious rituals without any disruptions or concerns.
She stated that Baisakhi was a vibrant and historic festival that embodied the true spirit of Punjab, with its colorful celebrations reflecting the region's rich cultural heritage. This year, the government will celebrate the festival with full enthusiasm, upholding the long-standing traditions of the province, she said.
The provincial minister assured that the Punjab government under CM strict directions had made exceptional arrangements for accommodation, meals and transportation for Sikh yatrees. Additionally, a comprehensive security plan has been implemented to ensure the safety and peace of mind of all pilgrims, allowing them to carry out their religious rituals without concern, she told.
On the other hand Sikh pilgrims consistently praise Pakistan’s warm hospitality, appreciating the well-organized accommodations, meals and the friendly, respectful atmosphere that enhances their pilgrimage experience.
