Parliamentary Secretary calls for inclusive Eid celebrations, urges focus on health, welfare

ISLAMABAD, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 29th May, 2026) Member Provincial Assembly from Pakistan Muslilm League-Nawaz (PML-N) and Parliamentary Secretary for the Punjab Department of Health and Population, Asma Naz Abbasi called on the nation to uphold compassion and support the underprivileged segments of the society.

She stated that the government remained committed to public welfare and urged citizens to include disadvantaged communities in their celebrations by sharing happiness with those in need.

While speaking during a ptv broadcast, Parliamentary Secretary for Punjab highlighted the Chief Minister Punjab’s vision for strengthening public welfare initiatives and ensuring support for underprivileged communities across the province.

She stressed that the government remained firmly committed to helping the poor and vulnerable segments of society, adding that a range of welfare-oriented programs were being implemented to improve living standards and provide relief to those in need.

The Parliamentary Secretary emphasized that women in Punjab were secured and empowered under the current leadership, noting that special attention had been given to their protection, inclusion, and socio-economic development through targeted policies.

Appealing to citizens ahead of Eid, she urged people to embrace the spirit of sharing and compassion by remembering underprivileged families during celebrations, adding, true joy of Eid lied in extending happiness beyond one’s own home and including those who were less fortunate in the festivities.

She also urged citizens, particularly women, to take special care of their health during Eid celebrations, emphasizing upon the importance of maintaining a balanced diet and responsible consumption of meat.

She advised moderation in eating habits to ensure well-being while enjoying the festive occasion.
