Patwari suspended for violating revenue rules

LAYYAH, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 14th Mar, 2026) A patwari was suspended for violating official rules and procedures in Layyah, according to the district administration.

According to official sources, Assistant Commissioner Layyah suspended Patwari Shahzad Akbar of Patwar Circle Jam Rad Thal with immediate effect after allegations of misconduct and misuse of authority.

According to the notification, the patwari exceeded his powers while performing official duties and violated the policy and prescribed procedure of the Punjab board of Revenue.

It was revealed that in Mutation No.

6615 of Mouza Jam Rad Thal, statements of owners of different accounts were included in a single mutation, which is against the rules of the Board of Revenue.

The order stated that the act prima facie falls under maladministration and misuse of authority.

Pending further inquiry and departmental proceedings, Shahzad Akbar has been suspended from service.

During the suspension period, he will remain attached to the office of the Assistant Commissioner Layyah and will not leave the station without prior permission.
