LAHORE, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 22nd Jun, 2026) Vice Chairman of the Pakistan Bar Council (PBC), Pir Masood Chishti, on Monday led a delegation in a meeting with Punjab Minister and Vice Chairman of the Overseas Pakistanis Commission (OPC) Punjab, Barrister Amjad Malik, to discuss issues relating to overseas Pakistanis and measures for ensuring timely access to justice.
Barrister Amjad Malik welcomed the delegation and briefed participants on the performance and ongoing initiatives of the OPC Punjab. Pir Masood Chishti congratulated him on the successful completion of Hajj, while the minister thanked the delegation for the visit.
During the meeting, Barrister Amjad Malik said that, under the special directives and support of Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz, special courts for overseas Pakistanis have been established in all 37 districts of the province. He added that 37 judges have also been appointed to ensure speedy, transparent and effective disposal of cases involving overseas Pakistanis.
The participants held detailed discussions on the resolution of problems faced by overseas Pakistanis, promotion of legal cooperation and strengthening mechanisms for the protection of their rights. Members of the legal fraternity also offered suggestions aimed at improving legal assistance and addressing challenges faced by the Pakistani diaspora.

Speaking on the occasion, Pir Masood Chishti said efforts would be made to form a dedicated delegation to strengthen engagement with overseas Pakistani lawyers and foreign legal professionals, with a view to promoting legal cooperation and professional networking at the international level.
Both sides agreed to further enhance institutional collaboration for the protection of overseas Pakistanis’ rights and the prompt resolution of their grievances.
At the conclusion of the meeting, Barrister Amjad Malik presented a commemorative shield to Pir Masood Chishti, while souvenirs were also distributed among members of the delegation by the OPC Punjab.
