PDMA finalise emergency response and rescue arrangement for Muharram-ul-Haram in Quetta

QUETTA, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 25th Jun, 2026) The Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) Balochistan has finalised emergency response and rescue arrangements for the observance of 9th and 10th Muharram-ul-Haram to ensure public safety during religious processions and gatherings.

A coordination meeting was held at PDMA Rescue Station (RS:03) under the chairmanship of Deputy Director PDMA, Asghar Ali Jamali, on the directives of Relief Commissioner and Director General PDMA Balochistan, Jahanzeb Khan Ghorezai.

The meeting reviewed emergency preparedness measures, communication network arrangements, deployment of response personnel, assignment of point duties, availability of rescue equipment, and operational readiness of rescue vehicles.

Officials discussed the deployment of rescue teams along procession routes and at sensitive locations, with particular emphasis on maintaining effective communication, ensuring rapid response capabilities, and strengthening coordination among emergency responders.

On behalf of the RC/DG PDMA, Speaking on the occasion, Asghar Ali Jamali directed all concerned officers and staff to remain vigilant and ensure that rescue personnel, communication systems, equipment, and vehicles remain fully functional throughout the Muharram period.
