Peshawar woman successfully treated at LGH,discharged after free surgery

LAHORE, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 30th May, 2026) A woman from Peshawar,Khyber Pakhtunkhwa was successfully treated and discharged from Lahore General Hospital (LGH) after receiving free,high-quality medical care under the healthcare vision of Punjab Chief Minister(CM) Maryam Nawaz Sharif.

According to an LGH spokesperson on Saturday,the patient,Shameem Rahmat(40), had been suffering from a serious gynecological condition and had previously undergone unsuccessful treatment at various hospitals in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

With no other option left,her family brought her to Lahore General Hospital for treatment.

Under the Punjab government's policy of providing equal and quality healthcare services to patients from all provinces without discrimination,the patient underwent a successful uterus surgery.

Head of Gynecology Unit-I,Prof.Dr.Nudrat Sohail and her team conducted a comprehensive examination, carried out necessary diagnostic tests and successfully performed the surgery, leading to the patient's recovery.

Principal Ameer-ud-Din Medical College Prof.Dr.Farooq Afzal appreciated the professional excellence,dedication and commitment of Dr.Sanam Allahyar and Dr.Sundas Tahir in caring for patients from other provinces.

He also announced special certificates of appreciation for both doctors in recognition of their services.

The patient's father,Shafi-ur-Rehman expressed gratitude for the treatment provided to his daughter and praised the healthcare initiatives introduced under Chief Minister(CM),Maryam Nawaz Sharif.

He said the family was thankful for the quality care and attention extended to the patient.

Her husband,Rahmat Ullah also commended the compassionate and professional conduct of the hospital staff, particularly Medical Superintendent Prof.Dr.Faryad Hussain and Prof.Dr.Nudrat Sohail.

Speaking on the occasion,Prof.Dr.Faryad Hussain said that every patient coming to Lahore General Hospital was treated as a VIP.

He stated that the doctors not only ensured excellent treatment for Shameem Rahmat but also enhanced the institution's reputation through their professional competence, hard work and empathetic approach.
