PFA Inspects 106 Food Outlets, Imposes Fines in Gujrat

GUJRAT, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 19th Mar, 2026) The Punjab Food Authority (PFA) carried out ongoing food safety operations across the district under the supervision of Deputy Director Rizwan Saeed.

According to a PFA spokesperson, 106 food outlets were inspected during the campaign.

Improvement notices were issued to 49 outlets, while 11 were fined for violating hygiene rules, with a total penalty of Rs127,000 imposed.

Officials also disposed of 7 kilograms of harmful and banned food items to ensure the provision of safe and quality food to the public.

The deputy director said that strict action against the adulteration mafia and providers of substandard food would continue without discrimination, adding that no compromise would be made on public health.
