PLRA DG reviews digital land reforms

MULTAN, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 20th Apr, 2026) Director General Punjab Land Records Authority Imran ul Haq, visited here on Monday

and chaired a meeting with Divisional Commissioner Aamir Karim Khan to review the

progress on land record digitization and revenue reforms.

The meeting was attended by Deputy Commissioner Muhammad Nauman Siddique,

along with deputy commissioners and revenue officers from across the division.

Officials briefed the participants on digitization of "mauzas", khewat and mutation

issues, and other administrative matters.

The DG said more than 25,000 khewat-related issues were being resolved across

the province, while over 182,000 mutation cases and 221,000 missing mutations

remained key challenges.

He maintained that a Lower Court Management System had been implemented,

enabling complete record monitoring of cases. Around 80 cases were currently

under hearing through the online court system in the division.

Ikram-ul-Haq added that central dashboards were being introduced under the Revenue

Court Management System, while drone teams would be deployed at the divisional

level for on-site land inspections. He said additional staff and equipment would also

be provided to strengthen the system.

The DG further stated that a Housing Societies Management System had been launched

for registration of residential schemes, integrating institutions such as the MDA and

municipal corporations. He observed that reforms were also being introduced in the

patwari (Numberdari) system and mutation fee structure.

He said a Property Transfer System had been launched to ensure transparent transactions,

while all relevant departments would report through an online property portal. Lodhran district,

he added, would soon be fully digitized.

Speaking on the occasion, Commissioner Aamir Karim Khan directed authorities to expedite

digitization of all mauzas, setting strict deadlines. He informed that Multan district alone faced

over 77,000 missing mutation cases and urged immediate recovery of records.

The commissioner also called for urgent steps to launch the Green Property Certificate

programme to provide verified ownership to citizens. He emphasized improved coordination

between PLRA and field administration to ensure public relief and transparency in housing

society registrations.

Earlier, Deputy Commissioner Muhammad Nauman Siddique briefed the meeting on revenue

targets and the performance of land record centres.
