PM's Coordinator calls for performance based politics

ISLAMABAD, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 26th Jul, 2026) Coordinator to the Prime Minister on Information and KP Affairs, Ikhtiar Wali Khan on Sunday reaffirmed his party's commitment to the Charter of Democracy, saying political discussions should based on governance and public service rather than personal attacks.

Talking to a private news channel, he said political parties should be evaluated on the basis of the employment opportunities they create and their overall performance.

Emphasizing the need for healthy political engagement, Wali Khan said differences of opinion should not be turned into personal hostility, as such an approach was detrimental to the democratic system.

Responding to a question, he said the demand for buses was made well before the announcement of the election schedule, saying that no voter is so weak that the provision of buses would determine their political choice.
