PML-N eyes ‘Welfare State’ transformation in AJK ahead of 2026 polls: Kamran Manzoor

MIRPUR, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 2nd May, 2026) Central Joint Secretary of Pakistan Muslim League (N) (AJK Chapter), Raja Kamran Manzoor, has said the party is determined to transform Azad Jammu and Kashmir into a model welfare state, expressing confidence of a landslide victory in the 2026 general elections.

Speaking to APP on Saturday, he said Pakistan is playing an effective role globally under the leadership of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, supported by the country’s armed forces led by Asim Munir. He added that a comprehensive strategy would be devised to accelerate development, promote prosperity, and ensure a peaceful and stable future for the region.

Manzoor termed the reported decision of senior politician Raja Zulqarnain Khan and his associates to join PML-N as a significant development in regional politics, predicting it would strengthen the party’s position ahead of the upcoming polls.

He said the move would inject new momentum into the party and pave the way for a decisive victory, particularly in Bhimber district.

He further said that under the leadership of party president Shah Ghulam Qadir and former prime minister Raja Farooq Haider Khan, the party aims to secure a two-thirds majority across AJK. He added that the vision of Nawaz Sharif, along with the policies of Maryam Nawaz, would be implemented in the region to drive progress, stability, and public welfare.
