PMML launches nationwide tree plantation drive under ‘Green Pakistan, Safe Pakistan’ campaign

LAHORE, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 24th Apr, 2026) The Khidmat-e-Khalq Department of the Pakistan Markazi Muslim League (PMML) has launched a three-day nationwide tree plantation campaign under the slogan “Green Pakistan, Safe Pakistan.”

The drive commenced on Friday in multiple cities, including Bahawalpur, Multan, and Toba Tek Singh, while plantation activities are scheduled to continue in Lahore and other major cities on Saturday.

Chairman of the Khidmat-e-Khalq Department, Chaudhry Shafeeq-ur-Rehman Waraich, inaugurated the campaign by planting saplings in Bahawalpur. During the three-day drive, environment-friendly plants are being planted across the country, accompanied by a comprehensive awareness campaign to promote environmental protection among the public.

According to party officials, plantation activities have already been carried out in cities including Bahawalpur, Multan, Toba Tek Singh, Jhelum, and Dera Ismail Khan. On the second day (Today), similar activities will take place in Lahore, Sheikhupura, Nankana Sahib, Gujranwala, Sialkot, Gujrat, Wazirabad, Rawalpindi, Islamabad, Peshawar, and Mardan, as part of the nationwide effort.

Chairman Shafeeq-ur-Rehman Waraich planted saplings outside Victoria Hospital Bahawalpur, in the presence of PMML Bahawalpur General Secretary Rana Saifullah and other party members. In Multan, he also participated in plantation activities, where Deputy Superintendent District Jail Multan Jamshed, Additional Deputy Superintendent Mian Muhammad Ali, and PMML Multan General Secretary Rana Abdul Rehman were present.

Speaking on the occasion, Chaudhry Shafeeq-ur-Rehman Waraich said that environmental pollution and climate change have emerged as major challenges, requiring collective efforts to address them. He stated that the PMML has initiated this campaign nationwide to promote a greener and safer Pakistan.

He added that party workers are actively participating in plantation activities across the country, while an awareness campaign is also being carried out on social media to highlight the importance of environmental protection.
