PMML to observe Friday as Youm-e-Tashakur

LAHORE, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 9th Apr, 2026) The Pakistan Markazi Muslim League (PMML) has termed Pakistan’s role in facilitating the recent ceasefire between the United States and Iran as “historic” and announced to observe Friday as a “Youm-e-Tashakur.”

In a statement on Thursday, PMML spokesperson Dr. Muzammil Iqbal Hashmi said it is a special blessing of Almighty Allah that Pakistan is gaining a prominent position in matters concerning the Muslim world. He noted that, particularly in the current middle East situation, Pakistan has been entrusted with a responsible and significant role in promoting peace and ending bloodshed, which is a matter of pride for the entire nation.

Hashmi emphasized that the nation should express gratitude to Allah for this achievement. He urged party workers to offer voluntary prayers of thanksgiving and make special supplications for the stability, peace, and progress of the country.

He further announced that PMML will formally observe Friday as a “Youm-e-Tashakur” and called upon religious scholars to highlight Pakistan’s global role, its services to the Muslim Ummah, and its growing importance during Friday sermons.

He added that this is a time for national unity, solidarity, and humility before Allah, so that Pakistan may continue to play a constructive role in promoting peace and stability at the international level.
