Police arrest 6 injured accused

HYDERABAD, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 9th Apr, 2026) The Hyderabad police rounded up six suspected outlaws in injured condition after they sustained bullet wounds in their legs in five different encounters carried out in the limits of Tandojam, Baldia, Tando Yousuf, Naseem Nagar and Bhitai Nagar police stations.

The police spokesman, Inspector Shahid Usman informed here on Thursday that an exchange of fire occurred between the cops of Tandojam police and a suspected drug peddler, identified as Feroze Gul Pissio on Tandojam-Matiari link road.

He added that a suspect sustained a gunshot to his leg and was subsequently apprehended before being shifted to Liaquat University Hospital (LUH). He claimed that the police recovered a small quantity of crystal ice, which is claimed to be an expensive narcotics, from his possession.

According to Usman, the second encounter took place on the CIA center link road between two suspected robbers and a team of Baldia police. Both the suspects, Sikandar Chandio alias Commando, and Zafar Rind, sustained gunshots during the exchange of fire.The spokesman claimed that the injured suspects and their associates were allegedly involved in robbing trucks and other vehicles on the bypass road and highways.

They were also shifted to the LUH for surgery of their gunshot wounds.

In the third encounter, which happened on Gulshan-e-Raees link road, a suspected drug peddler was shot and arrested by Tando Yousuf police and claimed recovery of more than one kilogram of hashish from his possession.

Mukhtiar, a resident of Lalu Lashari village of Hyderabad, was also taken to the LUH having sustained a bullet wound in his leg.The spokesman told that cops of Naseem Nagar police were engaged in an exchange of fire by suspected drug peddlers on Icon City road.

He added that a suspect, identified as Abdul Qayum Qureshi, was hit by a police fire bullet in his leg and was arrested but his accomplice escaped. Usman claimed that the police recovered a pistol and 100 grams of crystal ice from possession of Qureshi who was taken to the LUH.

The spokesman said Bhitai Nagar police tried to catch the gang of robbers known as the Rickshaw gang but the suspects opened fire on the police on Jamshoro road in a bid to escape. He added that one suspect, Muhammad Hashim Buriro, was hit by a police fired bullet and fell on the road but his four associates managed to escape.

Buriro told the police that the escaping suspects included Khalil Buriro, Mehboob Soomro, Mubeen Khuharo and Siraj Brohi. He was shifted to the LUH for the surgery.
