Police arrest eight suspects in crackdown on drugs,illegal arms

GUJRAT, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 30th May, 2026) Police on Saturday arrested eight suspects and recovered over five kilograms of hashish,15 liters of liquor,cash allegedly obtained from drug sales and an illegal pistol during separate operations against drug peddlers and illegal arms holders.

According to police sources,Station House Officer(SHO) Kunjah,SI Mian Munir Hussain along with his team,arrested five suspects during a crackdown on narcotics dealers.

Police recovered more than five kilograms of hashish,Rs.8000 allegedly received from drug sales and five liters of liquor from their possession.

In a separate operation against illegal arms holders,SHO Daulat Nagar Inspector Sibtain Naveed arrested a suspect and recovered a 30-bore pistol.

Meanwhile,SHO City Lalamusa Inspector Nasir Mahmood arrested two suspects during an operation in his jurisdiction and recovered 10 liters of liquor and ammunition from their possession.

Police registered separate cases against the accused and launched further investigations.

Authorities said the crackdown against drug peddlers and illegal arms holders would continue across the district.
