Police arrest two suspects in crackdown on robbers

CHARSADDA, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 26th Apr, 2026) The district police have successfully completed two major operations against local criminals on Sunday, resulting in the arrest of a robbery suspect and a electric-wire thief.

In Tangi area, police finalized an investigation into a Ramadan-era robbery where armed men stopped a vehicle belonging to dam workers and stole their cash. Under direction of DPO Muhammad Waqas Khan, a special investigation team tracked down final member of the gang, identified as Shahid.

Following previous arrest of two accomplices, Shahid was taken into custody with Rs 40,000 in stolen cash recovered from him, bringing the gang’s activities to a definitive end.

Meanwhile, Nastha police acting on a tip-off about individuals cutting wires near Padao area, police arrived at scene and were met with gunfire.

During exchange of fire, police acted in self-defense, wounding and arresting a suspect named Shah Faisal, alias Toray, while his accomplices managed to flee into the night.

At the scene, police seized a pistol along with heavy tools, including a hammer and chisel. The injured suspect was shifted to a hospital.

These operations highlight Charsadda Police's commitment to protecting both public property and safety of citizens. Police have reiterated that they will continue to take strict, indiscriminate action against anyone damaging electrical installations or threatening rule of law.
