LAHORE, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 13th Jun, 2026) The Lahore Police on Saturday has checked more than 534,000 vehicles and motorcycles during snap checking and roadblock operations launched across the city to curb crime and improve law and order.
According to a police spokesperson,over 103,000 vehicles and 431,000 motorcycles have been inspected at checkpoints established at various locations in the provincial capital.
During the crackdown,police took action against 4,850 motorcycles being operated without valid documents.
Another 307 motorcycles displaying applied-for or non-standard registration plates were stopped, while 162 motorcycles were impounded under Section-550 of the Criminal Procedure Code.
<?php /*?> <?php */?>The spokesperson said vehicles, motorcycles and suspicious individuals were being searched thoroughly at checkpoints as part of efforts to prevent criminal activity.
Capital City Police Officer(CCPO),Bilal Siddique Kamiana directed officers to remain present in the field and personally monitor policing measures and force performance.
He instructed officials to ensure strict checking, effective patrolling and close surveillance in crime-prone areas to protect the lives and property of citizens.
Police authorities said snap checking and search operations would continue as part of ongoing efforts to maintain law and order and eliminate crime in the city.
