RAWALPINDI, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 24th Apr, 2026) Three suspected robbers were killed in an exchange of fire with police in Saddar Baroni area on Friday.

According to the details, a team responding to an emergency call came under fire from three armed motorcyclists in the Dhoke Baba area. The suspects took positions in a nearby forested area and opened fire on the police party.

Police returned fire, killing all three suspects on the spot. The deceased were identified as Sarfraz, Abdullah and Asghar. A stolen motorcycle and weapons used in the crimes were recovered from their possession.

During the exchange, Constable Fahad sustained a bullet hit but remained safe due to a bulletproof jacket, while the police vehicle was also damaged by gunfire.

Police said the suspects were involved in multiple robbery cases and had allegedly shot dead a citizen during a robbery at a shop in the same area a day earlier. A complainant also identified the suspects as the same individuals who had robbed him shortly before the encounter.

Senior officers reached the scene, and the bodies were shifted to a hospital for post-mortem.

City Police Officer Syed Khalid Mahmood Hamdani commended the police team for bravely confronting the suspects, stating that those attacking citizens and law enforcement would not escape the law.
