Police foil major terror plot in Loralai

QUETTA, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 20th Apr, 2026) Loralai police successfully thwarted a major terrorist plan following a swift operation based on intelligence reports, DIG Loralai Range Junaid Ahmed Sheikh, accompanied by SSP Loralai Dr. Fahad Ahmed revealed at a press conference.

DIG Loralai Range Junaid Ahmed Sheikh, accompanied by SSP Loralai Dr. Fahad Ahmed, announced that police acted promptly on a tip-off and conducted a successful raid in the Pori Tuk mountains. During the operation, a large cache of explosives and weapons intended for terrorist activities was recovered.

The seized materials included 10 kilograms of TNT, 8 kilograms of black explosive, 4 improvised explosive devices (IEDs), including 2 small and 2 large, 11 detonators, 6 meters of safety fuse, 165 rounds of SMG ammunition, 1 kilogram of ball bearings and 11 meters of bonacord.

DIG Junaid Ahmed Sheikh emphasized that the police have consistently played a frontline role in combating terrorism and will continue to fulfill their responsibilities to maintain peace and security. He added that public cooperation is vital to making such operations more effective and ensuring sustainable peace in the region.

Authorities reaffirmed their commitment to intensifying counter-terrorism efforts and urged citizens to remain vigilant against suspicious activities.
