Police on high alert as hotels, bus terminals under strict screening in Rawalpindi

RAWALPINDI, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 19th Mar, 2026) Police have implemented coordinated and effective security arrangements across the city in view of the current situation, according to a police spokesman, that strict screening is being carried out at more than 1,600 hotels and over 350 transport terminals.

Security measures have been adopted, including thorough inspection of transport vehicles, verification of drivers and staff, vehicle searches, and monitoring of suspicious individuals.

At bus stands, CCTV footage has been ensured, along with strict monitoring of entry and exit points and effective deployment of security personnel.

In addition, police are verifying the credentials of individuals staying in hotels to ensure safety.

Drivers, conductors, and passengers are also being regularly informed about security precautions and advised to immediately report any suspicious activity to the police helpline.

City Police Officer (CPO) Syed Khalid Mehmood Hamdani stated that protection of citizens’ lives and property remains the top priority, adding that all necessary steps are being taken to ensure foolproof security across the city.
