HYDERABAD, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 12th Jul, 2026) The Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) on Sunday organised a protest rally here on Sunday decrying Indian aggression on the Indus River's water and its violation of the Indus Water Treaty (IWT).
The rally, led by PPP's Sindh President and Chairman Public Accounts Committee in the Sindh Assembly Nisar Ahmed Khuhro, passed through different roads in Hyderabad before concluding outside Hyderabad press club.
Speaking on the occasion, Khuhro said Pakistan would never tolerate any aggression on its rivers' water let alone allow India to unilaterally violate the IWT.
He emphasized that Sindh being the lower riparian had the biggest right on the Indus River.
The PPP's provincial chief said Pakistan was fully capable of defending its sovereignty and national interests.
He added that the country had responded firmly to external aggression in the past and would continue to safeguard its territorial integrity and water resources.

"Any attempt to rob Pakistan's water rights or violate the IWT is unacceptable," he underlined.
Khuhro urged the Federal government of Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) to pursue effective diplomatic and legal measures to safeguard the country's water interests.
"People of Pakistan won't tolerate any threat to the country's sovereignty, territorial integrity or water resources," he underscored.
He reaffirmed the PPP's commitment to protecting the rights associated with the Indus River.
The PPP's MNA Syed Tariq Shah Jamote, Hyderabad Division's PPP President ex-Senator Aajiz Dhamra and other local leaders of the party besides a large number of workers participated in the rally.
