FAISALABAD, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 6th May, 2026) Secretary Social Welfare Punjab, Saira Omar said that in line with the vision of Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif, extensive practical measures are being taken for the welfare and uplift of the underprivileged and vulnerable segments of the society.
She said that the role of welfare organizations providing voluntary services across various sectors of life is of great importance.
During her visit to Faisalabad, she reviewed the ongoing educational and training activities for special children at the central campus of Tanzeem Al-Lisan.
On this occasion, Director Social Welfare Khalida Rafiq, Deputy Director Social Welfare Amina Alam, Assistant Directors Social Welfare Muhammad Tahir and Muhammad Tayyab, along with other officers, were also present.
President of Tanzeem Al-Ihsan, Dr. Iftikhar Ahmad, gave a detailed briefing to the provincial secretary regarding the institution’s welfare activities related to the rehabilitation, education and training of children with various disabilities.
He informed that special children are being provided education and technical training in different fields from playgroup to postgraduate level, while counseling sessions for parents and refresher courses for teachers are also conducted.
Principal Kulsoom Iftikhar, Vice Principals Shaista Irshad and Saba Saud, along with other faculty members and office-bearers of Tanzeem Al-Lisan including Chaudhry Sarfraz, Subhan Ali, Chaudhry Tariq Nazir, Professor Dr. Ayub, Ghulam Rabbani, and others were also present on the occasion.
The Secretary Social Welfare Punjab visited the classrooms for special children and reviewed in detail the teaching activities aimed at the rehabilitation and education of children with intellectual and physical disabilities, autism, hearing impairment and other conditions, appreciating the facilities available for their rehabilitation.
She commended the exemplary performance of Tanzeem Al-Lisan in special education and stated that such NGOs are role models for society and will be fully supported so that special children can be equipped with education and skills to become productive citizens in the future.
