Precious government land reterieved in crackdown

DERA ISMAIL KHAN, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 6th May, 2026) The district administration has intensified its crackdown on illegal encroachments on state land, reclaiming several parcels and allocating them for public welfare.

According to the administration, Assistant Commissioner (Revenue) Iftikhar Ahmed, along with the revenue staff, visited various villages in Tehsil D.I. Khan and initiated the crackdown.

During the visit, a total of 149 kanals of land was identified in the presence of local residents for use as graveyards.

Giving details, it says that land includes 50 kanals each in Singhar Sharif and Kokar Adda, and 49 kanals in Mauza Muryali.

The most significant development occurred in Mauza Mariali, where 49 kanals of government land were successfully retrieved from illegal occupants.

The estimated value of this land is around Rs120 million, and it has been immediately designated for use as a graveyard.

Authorities have directed the revenue staff to promptly complete the official record of the allocated land to ensure it remains protected from future encroachments.

It adds that indiscriminate action against illegal occupation of state land will continue in the public interest.
