Principal claims Nikah, father accuses him of assaulting her daughter

LAYYAH, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 3rd May, 2026) Police in Layyah have registered a case and arrested a school principal following allegations of assault on a student, a police spokesperson said on Saturday.

According to details, the matter was reported at Kot Sultan Police Station where the father of the victim submitted an application alleging that the school principal had committed assault against his daughter. Acting on the directives of District Police Officer (DPO) Hassan Javed Bhatti, police immediately registered a case and arrested the accused principal.

During initial investigation, the accused presented a registered Nikah Nama (marriage certificate) from NADRA, claiming that he had contracted marriage with the victim, along with video evidence in support of his stance.

DPO Hassan Javed Bhatti stated that the case is being further investigated on merit under the department’s strict policy of transparency and justice. He said the matter would be decided purely on facts to ensure complete justice for all parties involved.

He further added that no injustice will be committed against any party and a fair investigation will be ensured.

DPO reiterated that in line with the vision of the Chief Minister Punjab, Layyah Police is taking all possible measures for the protection of women and ensuring rule of law in such sensitive matters.
