Prof Ameer Ali Khuhro Bids Farewell After 33 Years of Service at SALU

SUKKUR, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 27th Mar, 2026) A dignified ceremony was held at Shah Abdul Latif University (SALU), Khairpur on Friday, to mark the superannuation of Professor Dr. Ameer Ali Khuhro, Pro Vice Chancellor, Shahdadkot Campus, following an illustrious career spanning over 33 years of service.

The ceremony organized at the Syndicate Hall of the Vice Chancellor’s Secretariat in a hybrid format (both physical and online), celebrated the remarkable contributions and lifelong commitment of Dr. Khuhro to academia and institutional development.

Addressing the gathering, Vice Chancellor (VC), Professor Dr. Yousuf Khushk paid tribute to Dr. Khuhro’s inspiring journey and unwavering dedication to education. He commended his significant role in strengthening academic linkages with national and international institutions.

In his farewell address, Professor Khuhro expressed his sincere gratitude to the VC for initiating the tradition of such farewell ceremonies. He thanked his colleagues and the university community for their support and goodwill and reaffirmed his continued association with the institution.

Speakers on the occasion paid glowing tributes to Dr.

Khuhro, remembering him as a dedicated teacher, a compassionate mentor, an efficient administrator, and a humble personality. Over the course of his distinguished career, he served the University in various key positions, including Professor, Head of Department, Dean and Pro Vice Chancellor.

The participants noted that while superannuation marks the conclusion of formal service, the bonds of respect, mentorship, and professional excellence forged over decades will continue to inspire future generations.

The ceremony was attended by senior university officials, including Pro-Vice Chancellors Professor Dr. Maqsood Zia and Professor Dr. Wahid Bux Jatoi, Deans Professor Dr. Noor Ahmed Shaikh, Professor Dr. Ghulam Mustafa Mashori, Professor Dr. Minhoon Khan Laghari, Professor Dr. Mushtaque Ali Jakhrani, and Professor Dr. Liaquat Ali Chandio,senior faculty members, administrative officers, and representatives from Shahdadkot Campus.
