KOHAT, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 17th Apr, 2026) Electricity supply to Union Council Shahpur has yet to be restored, prompting Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) workers to stage protests against their own government.
Residents and party workers expressed frustration, stating that while they are remembered during election campaigns for votes and slogans, their concerns are ignored once polls conclude.
Protesters noted that despite a recent visit by the local Member of Provincial Assembly (MPA), no practical steps were taken to resolve the issue.
Community members further complained that Union Council Shahpur does not fall within the constituency of Member of National Assembly Shehryar Afridi, which they believe is why he has not visited the area or addressed the electricity crisis.
Citizens voiced disappointment over the prolonged outage, questioning whom they should appeal to for relief and accountability.
