PSCA launches effective surveillance through drone technology

LAHORE, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 24th Apr, 2026) The Punjab Safe Cities Authority (PSCA) has launched effective surveillance across the province through drone technology.

The PSCA further expanded the scope of surveillance across the province through drone technology, under which immediate action is being taken on emergency 15 calls, detection of crimes, traffic violations and environmental pollution.

According to the spokesperson, garbage burning was identified on Borh Wala Chowk Allama Iqbal Road during drone surveillance in different areas of Lahore, which was immediately taken action and the fire was brought under control.

Similarly, factories emitting smoke were identified in the areas of Karol Ghati, Mahmood Buti and Badami Bagh, on which an alert was issued to the relevant institutions for immediate action.

During drone monitoring, kite flying violations were also identified in Karim Park, Shafiqabad, Badami Bagh and Kahna Nishtar Colony, on which legal action was taken.

According to the spokesperson, the use of drone technology has significantly improved the performance of field forces, while crime prevention and immediate response have also increased.

The Safe Cities Authority says that this system is also active in other cities of the province and through it, the safety of citizens and law enforcement are being made more effective.
