The Punjab Safe Cities Authority (PSCA) has successfully reunited a differently-abled child with his parents after 15 years through its “Mera Pyara” initiative, officials said on Monday

LAHORE, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 4th May, 2026) The Punjab Safe Cities Authority (PSCA) has successfully reunited a differently-abled child with his parents after 15 years through its “Mera Pyara” initiative, officials said on Monday.

According to a PSCA spokesperson, the child, identified as Ramzan, had gone missing from Gujranwala in March 2010. Being hearing and speech impaired, his identification and tracing remained a major challenge over the years.

The spokesperson said the child was recently found in a destitute condition in Lahore and shifted to an Edhi Centre for care and protection.

He said the Safe City’s “Mera Pyara” team recorded a video interview of the child and shared it on social media along with his old photograph from 2010 as part of a digital outreach campaign.

During the campaign, a relative recognised the child through the video and contacted authorities.

The family later confirmed that the child was Ramzan, son of Muhammad Iqbal, who had been missing since 2010. After completing the verification process, the PSCA team safely reunited the child with his family.

The reunion scene turned emotional as family members broke into tears of joy upon meeting their long-lost son after 15 years.

The spokesperson said the continuous efforts of the “Mera Pyara” team are playing a vital role in reuniting missing and destitute individuals with their families. Citizens are urged to report information regarding missing children by calling Emergency Helpline-15 and pressing 3 for timely assistance.
