ISLAMABAD, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 9th Apr, 2026) The benchmark KSE-100 Index of the pakistan stock exchange (PSX) witnessed a bearish trend on Thursday, losing 293.50 points, a negative change of 0.18 percent, closing at 165,517.51 points against 165,811.01 points on the last trading day, according to psx data.
During the session, the ready market recorded a trading volume of 888.566 million shares with a traded value of Rs 54.281 billion, compared to 1,245.185 million shares valuing Rs 54.404 billion in the previous session.
The market capitalization decreased to Rs 18.264 trillion from Rs 18.322 trillion a day earlier.
Out of 489 active companies in the ready market, 162 advanced, 290 declined, and 37 remained unchanged.
WorldCall Telecom topped the volume chart with 105.
838 million shares, followed by F. Nat. Equities with 81.609 million shares and K-Electric Limited with 63.973 million shares.
The top gainers included PIA Holding Company LimitedB, which increased by Rs 415.04 to close at Rs 18,015.05, and Rafhan Maize Products Company Limited, which gained Rs 131.06 to settle at Rs 9,263.41.
On the losing side, Unilever Pakistan Foods Limited declined by Rs 177.45 to close at Rs 25,820.55, while Hoechst Pakistan Limited fell by Rs 41.89 to close at Rs 3,954.27.
In the futures market, turnover stood at 165.510 million shares with a traded value of Rs 11.940 billion, compared to 196.882 million shares worth Rs 9.168 billion in the previous session.
Out of 314 futures-market companies, 124 recorded gains while 189 declined and 1 remained unchanged.
