ISLAMABAD, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 2nd Jun, 2026) Federal Minister for Parliamentary Affairs Dr. Tariq Fazal Chaudhry on Tuesday urged the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) government in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa to focus on addressing the problems faced by the people rather than pursuing personal interests.

Speaking to a private television channel, the minister stressed the need for improving governance in the province. He said that KP PTI leadership should prioritize public welfare and work towards resolving administrative challenges.

Dr. Tariq Fazal Chaudhry also reiterated the government's commitment to political dialogue, saying that the opposition had been invited to come forward and help resolve political issues through negotiations.

Commenting on the upcoming Gilgit-Baltistan elections, he expressed confidence that the electoral process would be conducted in a transparent and peaceful manner. Responding to a question regarding India's reported plans to stop Pakistan's water supply, the minister said that India could not unilaterally suspend or alter the Indus Waters Treaty.

He maintained that India would not dare to halt the flow of water to Pakistan and added that Pakistan has several options available to raise the matter at international forums if necessary. He emphasized that Pakistan would continue to safeguard its rights under international agreements and pursue all available legal channels to protect its interests.
