Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif has announced the launch of a special “Maryam Ko Batain” programme from the first of Ramazan to provide immediate financial assistance to deserving families, with eligible applicants to receive up to Rs10,000 within 24 hours

LAHORE, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 16th Feb, 2026) Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif has announced the launch of a special “Maryam Ko Batain” programme from the first of Ramazan to provide immediate financial assistance to deserving families, with eligible applicants to receive up to Rs10,000 within 24 hours.

In a message posted on social media platform X, the chief minister said the initiative aims to ensure prompt support for individuals facing financial hardship during the holy month. She added that a dedicated helpline, 1000, will become operational from the start of Ramazan to facilitate applications.

Under the programme, citizens will also be able to apply by entering their CNIC number on a web portal or mobile application.

Applications will be processed through a transparent digital verification system featuring live tracking, digital record-keeping and continuous monitoring to ensure accountability.

She said individuals already registered under the PSER database will receive financial assistance within 24 hours, while verification and registration of new applicants will be completed within four days.

The chief minister said that during Ramazan, the government would ensure that state resources reach every deserving individual in need, with dignity and transparency.
