LAHORE, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 17th Apr, 2026) The Punjab Counter Narcotics Force (CNF) arrested 32 drug peddlers and recovered over 137.67 kilograms of narcotics during 35 intelligence-based operations conducted across the province over the past week.

Director General CNF Mazhar Iqbal, while briefing about the performance of the ongoing crackdown, said that the operations were carried out in Lahore, Dera Ghazi Khan, Rawalpindi, Sahiwal, Faisalabad, Gujranwala and Bahawalpur. He said that a total of 137.67 kilograms of narcotics worth approximately Rs31 million were recovered, including 109 kg hashish, 21.

17 kg opium, 1.5 kg ice, six kg cannabis, 737 grams heroin and 3,600 ecstasy tablets. Two pistols were also seized during the operations.

The DG said the crackdown was being carried out in line with the vision of Chief Minister Punjab Maryam Nawaz for a “Drug-Free Punjab,” aimed at eliminating narcotics networks across the province.

He added that the operations were helping dismantle major drug trafficking networks. He further informed that since the establishment of the force in August 2025, a total of 15.9 tonnes of narcotics worth Rs2.156 billion had been seized.
