LAHORE, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 12th May, 2026) Punjab Counter Narcotics Force (CNF) conducted 70 successful intelligence-based operations across the province during the last 10 days and arrested 73 drug peddlers, recovering huge quantities of narcotics and weapons.
According to a spokesperson for Punjab CNF, a total of 255 kilograms of narcotics worth approximately Rs 42 million were seized during various operations. The recovered narcotics included 230 kilograms of hashish, 13 kilograms of opium, three kilograms of ice, nine kilograms of cannabis and 250 grams of heroin.
The spokesperson said 20 weapons were also recovered during the operations, including 15 pistols, two sub-machine guns (SMGs) and three rifles.
<?php /*?> <?php */?>Punjab CNF Director General (DG) Brig. Mazhar Iqbal said that since August 2025, the force had recovered 21.7 tonnes of narcotics worth more than Rs 2.35 billion.
He said that on the directions of Chief Minister Punjab Maryam Nawaz Sharif, a zero-tolerance policy was being strictly implemented against drug traffickers across the province.
The DG added that operations against narcotics dealers would continue without interruption until the objective of eliminating drugs from society was achieved.
