LAHORE, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 20th Apr, 2026) The Punjab government has released funds of Rs 1.6 billion under the diesel subsidy project to provide relief to farmers.
According to sources, the Finance Department has started regular implementation of this project after the approval of Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz.
Under the government policy, wheat farmers who own land up to 25 acres have been declared eligible for the subsidy. According to official sources, a subsidy of Rs 150 per liter will be provided on 10 liters of diesel for each acre.
The Punjab government says that only registered farmers holding Kissan cards will be able to benefit from this subsidy, while unregistered people will not be eligible for this facility.
