The Punjab Home Department has imposed a temporary ban on all mechanical rides installed for Good Friday and Easter celebrations across the province from April 3 to April 5, 2026, as part of measures to protect public safety
LAHORE, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 3rd Apr, 2026) The Punjab Home Department has imposed a temporary ban on all mechanical rides installed for Good Friday and Easter celebrations across the province from April 3 to April 5, 2026, as part of measures to protect public safety.
According to spokesman, permanent mechanical rides operating in amusement parks will be allowed to run only if they hold valid fitness certificates, ensuring compliance with safety standards. Deputy commissioners across Punjab have been directed to conduct thorough security and fitness inspections of all rides. Only those rides that meet the required safety standards will be permitted to operate.
Ride owners and operators of permanent installations have been instructed to obtain fitness certificates from the respective DCs, while district administrations are tasked with verifying that all mechanical rides comply with mandatory safety measures.
The decision to ban temporarily installed mechanical rides has been taken in view of the large number of children from the Christian community who use such rides during Easter. Authorities noted that temporary rides often do not meet standard security protocols and overloading poses a serious threat to human life.
The Home Department emphasised that strict compliance with the directive has been ordered across Punjab to ensure the safety of citizens during the festive period.
