The department further advised farmers to complete the sowing of Kissan Basmati from June 10 to June 30, while Basmati hybrid variety SK-111H should be cultivated between June 7 and June 25. Recommended coarse hybrid varieties should be sown from May 20 to June 15.

The spokesperson warned farmers against cultivating unapproved and banned rice varieties, stating that such varieties produce poor-quality rice and negatively affect Pakistan’s rice exports due to adulteration and lower prices in the international market.

The department urged growers to strictly follow the recommended schedule and approved seed varieties to ensure better production, improved grain quality and enhanced export competitiveness.
