LAHORE, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 9th Apr, 2026) Punjab Police have launched a comprehensive behavioural training programme for officers and personnel across the province to promote positive policing, courtesy and a public-friendly culture, in line with the vision of Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif.
According to a Punjab Police spokesperson, the initiative has been undertaken on the instructions of Inspector General of Police (IGP) Punjab Abdul Kareem, under which one-day training sessions are being conducted through a special behavioural module.
The spokesperson said that officers and personnel are being trained to interact with citizens in a polite, respectful and dignified manner, with special emphasis on addressing the public as “Sir” and “Madam.”
He said it has been made mandatory for police officials to adopt a courteous attitude at all stages, including checkpoints, registration of FIRs, investigations and other official processes, to promote trust and strengthen relations between the police and the public.
The spokesperson added that representatives of civil society are also actively participating in the programme to help improve the professional capabilities and ethical conduct of police personnel.
So far, around 35,500 officers and personnel across Punjab have been trained under the special behavioural module, which has now been made a permanent part of police training, with refresher courses to be conducted regularly.
The spokesperson said the new training initiative would further enhance public trust in police and contribute to crime prevention through improved professional conduct.
