Punjab to celebrate ‘Marka-e-Haq’ with province-wide events from May 8 to 10

LAHORE, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 6th May, 2026) Punjab Minister for Information and Culture Azma Bokhari has announced province-wide celebrations from May 8 to 10 in connection with the ‘Marka-e-Haq.’

Speaking to the media outside the Punjab Assembly on Wednesday, she said that the past year had been marked by remarkable success, during which the Pakistan Army, in the ‘Marka-e-Haq,’ forced an enemy three times its size to surrender within a matter of hours. She termed it a case study for the world, stating that wars are not won merely with equipment but with passion, determination, and unwavering spirit. She added that the commitment and resolve demonstrated by Pakistan’s armed forces in defending the country are unparalleled.

The provincial minister paid tribute to the martyrs of the Pakistan Army on behalf of herself and Chief Minister Punjab Maryam Nawaz, announcing that the day marking the enemy’s defeat in the ‘Marka-e-Haq’ would be celebrated as a national festivity.

She said that as part of the celebrations, a grand concert would be held at Liberty Roundabout on the night between May 8 and 9, where thousands of people are expected to participate. Patriotic songs will be performed to convey to the world that the Pakistani nation never forgets its martyrs and war heroes.

Azma Bokhari further stated that a central ceremony will be held on May 10, which will be attended by Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz. The event will honor the martyrs and veterans of the Pakistan Army and reaffirm the nation’s commitment to making every possible sacrifice for the country’s security and defense.

She expressed confidence that Allah Almighty will always protect Pakistan and said that the entire nation stands united with its armed forces in this mission.
