RAWALPINDI, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 16th Feb, 2026) Following the directives of Punjab Chief Minister Marium Nawaz Sharif, the Rawalpindi district administration has initiated special measures to provide relief to citizens during the holy month of Ramadan.

Under the supervision of Deputy Commissioner Dr Hasan Waqar Cheema, Ramadan and cart bazaars are being established across the city to ensure the availability of affordable and high-quality food and essential items. A Ramadan bazaar has been set up at Chowk Chohar, monitored by the Assistant Commissioner Cantt, while two cart bazaars are being launched at Iqbal Park and Haideri Chowk under the supervision of Assistant Commissioner City Iman Zafar.

These markets will offer staples such as flour, sugar, pulses, vegetables, fruits, and other essential goods at government-controlled rates, enabling citizens to access products at fair prices.

Deputy Commissioner Dr Cheema emphasized that the bazaars must maintain high standards of cleanliness, prominently display price lists, and ensure no compromise on product quality. Price control magistrates have been directed to continuously monitor the markets and take strict action against hoarding, profiteering, or overcharging.

According to the district administration, the establishment of Ramadan and cart bazaars will provide citizens with easy, affordable, and quality access to daily essentials while helping control inflation.
