Rana Mashhood calls on Hamza Shehbaz amid evolving political landscape

ISLAMABAD, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 24th Apr, 2026) Chairman of the Prime Minister’s Youth Programme Rana Mashhood Ahmad Khan met former Punjab chief minister Hamza Shehbaz Sharif on Friday in Lahore, where they discussed the prevailing political situation in the country and other matters of mutual interest, including youth development initiatives and governance priorities.

According to the sources, both leaders exchanged views on the evolving national political landscape, with particular focus on stability, public welfare and the role of youth in strengthening democratic institutions.

They also reviewed ongoing and proposed initiatives under the Prime Minister’s Youth Programme aimed at enhancing employment opportunities, skills development and civic engagement among young people.

The discussion underscored the importance of continuity in policy measures to ensure sustainable socio economic growth, with an emphasis on equipping youth to meet contemporary challenges through education, innovation and entrepreneurship.

Rana Mashhood briefed Hamza Shehbaz on key interventions being undertaken to expand access to digital skills and financial support schemes for young entrepreneurs.

Hamza Shehbaz highlighted the need for coordinated efforts between Federal and provincial stakeholders to maximise outreach and effectiveness of youth centric programmes, particularly in Punjab, which accounts for a significant share of the country’s youth population.

Vice President of PML-N UK and Focal Person of the Prime Minister’s Youth Programme Farooq Ali Khalid was also present during the meeting.
