Rawalpindi Bar seeks reforms in biometric system

RAWALPINDI, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 26th Mar, 2026) The District Bar Association Rawalpindi passed a resolution calling for reforms in the biometric system used for case filings, noting delays, technical glitches and complicated procedures that hinder lawyers and litigants.

The resolution, presented by Advocate Muhammad Fawad Ziad and seconded by Advocate Owais Ahsan Raja, was approved during a meeting presided over by Bar President Sajid Awan. General Secretary Qamarul Haq Khan Niazi said minor technical issues often led to rejected filings, causing frustration and wasting time.

Lawyers demanded extending e-filing timelines, simplifying procedures, and consulting the legal community to make the system more accessible, transparent, and efficient. The association resolved to raise the matter with Lahore High Court authorities to ensure timely and smooth dispensation of justice.
