Relief Dept strives to ensure timely relief activities: Aqib

PESHAWAR, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 28th Apr, 2026) Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Minister for Relief, Rehabilitation and Settlement Aqib Ullah Khan has said that the Relief Department was taking effective measures for the protection, assistance and rehabilitation of people affected by difficult situations and natural disasters.

The department is now striving to ensure timely relief activities even in difficult and mountainous areas, he said while presiding over a meeting regarding the Annual Development Programme 2025 managed by the Relief Department at the Civil Secretariat here Tuesday. Apart from the Secretary Relief, other concerned officers also attended the meeting.

During the meeting, the provincial minister was briefed about the details of the ongoing and proposed projects of the Annual Development Programme 26-2025.

Provincial Minister Aqib Ullah Khan said that practical steps would be taken to resolve the issues faced. He also stressed on full coordination, including resolving the problems of employees. He also issued instructions to conduct surveys related to the annual development program and collect relevant data, besides to extend relief activities to the tehsil level.

He stressed on the timely completion of ongoing development projects and said that the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government preferred those projects that were collective in nature, so that maximum people could benefit.
