Religious scholar Maulana Khalid shot dead in Lakki Marwat

PESHAWAR, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 9th Apr, 2026) A well-known religious scholar Maulana Khalid Amin was shot dead in a targeted attack in the Lakki Marwat district on Thursday, police confirmed.

According to initial police reports unidentified assailants traveling in a motor car opened fire on Maulana Khalid near the Parade Ground area in Sarai Naurang.

As a result of the attack, he sustained critical injuries and died on the spot.

Following the incident, his body was shifted to the Sarai Naurang hospital.

Police said the attackers managed to flee the scene after carrying out the shooting. A search operation has been launched and an investigation is underway to trace and apprehend those involved.

Police have termed the incident a suspected case of targeted killing.
