Religious scholars assure full cooperation in Eid-ul-Azha cleanliness drive

LAHORE, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 21st May, 2026) The Suthra Punjab Agency Lahore (SPAL) has accelerated preparations to ensure effective cleanliness arrangements during Eid-ul-Azha.

As part of these efforts, an important meeting of religious scholars and spiritual leaders was held at the SPAL head office, said a press release issued here on Thursday. Member of the Council of Islamic Ideology and more than 22 ulema and mashaikh attended the meeting.

The meeting reviewed sanitation arrangements for Eid-ul-Azha, public awareness initiatives and the collective role of citizens in maintaining cleanliness during the Eid.

Participants stressed that religious scholars can play a vital role in promoting awareness about cleanliness and proper disposal of sacrificial animals waste among the public.

The ulema assured full cooperation in the Eid-ul-Azha cleanliness drive and urged to spread awareness through Friday and Eid sermons by highlighting the importance of cleanliness, environmental protection and responsible disposal of animal waste. The meeting also decided that religious scholars and SPAL officials would jointly participate in cleanliness activities in different towns of Lahore to further strengthen the awareness drive.

Under the vision of Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif for a “Suthra Punjab”, ulema and mashaikh will actively support the province-wide cleanliness awareness drive during Eid-ul-Azha.
