Reports of shifting Regi Town affectees to New Peshawar Valley baseless: Commissioner

PESHAWAR, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 26th Apr, 2026) Commissioner Peshawar Division, Riaz Khan Mehsud has clarified that circulating reports regarding the relocation of Regi Model Town affectees to New Peshawar Valley are baseless and fabricated.

According to the Commissioner Office on Sunday, a representative delegation of Regi Model Town affectees met with the Commissioner to discuss ongoing efforts and progress made by the provincial government toward a sustainable resolution of the land issue.

During the meeting, misunderstandings among the affectees were addressed, leading to expressions of satisfaction and relief from the delegation.

The Commissioner stated that the provincial government had been contacted to verify the situation, after which the rumors about relocation were formally denied. He assured the delegation that the government is taking the matter seriously and is committed to ensuring a fair, transparent and lasting solution.

The representatives of the affectees appreciated the efforts of the Commissioner and pledged their full cooperation in resolving the issue.

The meeting was also attended by Deputy Commissioner Peshawar Captain (R) Sanaullah, officials from the Peshawar Development Authority (PDA), revenue staff and other concerned authorities.
