Rescue 1122 completes flood emergency response arrangements

MUZAFFARGARH, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 26th Jul, 2026) The Punjab emergency service,Rescue 1122 finalized all flood emergency response arrangements to effectively tackle any potential flooding in the River Chenab.

According to Rescue 1122, emergency teams have been deployed at 18 vulnerable locations stretching from Chak Farazi to Head Panjnad along the River Chenab. The teams have been equipped with rescue boats, life jackets, radio communication system, rescue equipment, and other essential safety gear to ensure swift and effective response in case of any flood like emergency.

District Emergency Officer Rescue 1122 Muzaffargarh, Engineer Ubaidullah Khan, said that all flood deployment arrangements had been completed and rescue teams were on high alert around the clock at their designated locations.

He urged residents living inside the flood embankments along the River Chenab to shift along with their families, livestock, and valuable belongings, to safer areas outside the embankments.

He emphasized that timely precautionary measures were the best way to minimize the risk of loss of life and property.

The official also appealed to citizens to strictly follow the instructions issued by the district administration and Rescue 1122 and avoid delaying evacuation if advised. He further requested the public to immediately inform any emergency by calling the Rescue 1122 helpline to ensure prompt rescue services.
