SARGODHA, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 27th Jun, 2026) The Punjab Emergency Service (Rescue 1122) Sargodha remained on high alert, providing comprehensive emergency cover to mourners during the 9th and 10th of Muharram.
A special security and emergency plan was implemented to ensure safety and wellbeing of citizens participating in the processions across the district.
According to the official data released by the Rescue 1122 spokesman, a dedicated force of 341 rescue personnel was deployed to manage emergency situations.
The operational fleet included 30 ambulances, 28 motorbike ambulance units, and 05 specialized fire vehicles positioned along the procession routes and imambarghas.
Throughout the two-day period, the rescue teams remained proactive, attending to a total of 732 injured persons.
<?php /*?> <?php */?>Of these, 683 individuals were provided with immediate, life-saving first aid on the spot, while 49 individuals requiring further medical attention were efficiently shifted to nearby hospitals for specialized treatment.
Talking to APP on Saturday, the District Emergency Officer (DEO) Rescue 1122, Mazhar Shah, reaffirmed the department’s unwavering commitment to public service.
"The safety of our citizens remains our top priority, particularly during such sensitive religious observances," said DEO Mazhar Shah. "Our teams worked tirelessly with a spirit of dedication to provide rapid response, ensuring that medical assistance reached those in need within the shortest possible time.
