ABBOTTABAD, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 3rd Jul, 2026) Rescue 1122 Upper Kohistan, the Forest Department and the Tehsil Municipal Administration (TMA) have agreed to enhance coordination and preparedness to prevent forest fires and ensure a swift emergency response during a meeting held on Friday.
The meeting, chaired by District Emergency Officer Amjad Ali and attended by the Divisional Forest Officer (DFO) and the Tehsil Municipal Officer (TMO), reviewed potential forest fire risks, assessed the emergency response plan and formulated a joint strategy to tackle any fire-related emergency.
Participants discussed the causes of forest fires, identification of vulnerable areas, early reporting mechanisms, rescue operations, availability of firefighting equipment and measures to raise public awareness.

The District Emergency Officer directed Rescue 1122 teams to remain on high alert, ensure all firefighting equipment is fully operational and closely monitor sensitive forest areas to guarantee an immediate response to any fire incident.
The public was urged to avoid activities that could ignite forest fires, including lighting fires or discarding lit cigarettes and matches in forested areas, and to immediately report any fire or suspicious activity to Rescue 1122 or the relevant authorities.
