Rescue 1122 responds to 169 emergencies in one week

DERA ISMAIL KHAN, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 13th Apr, 2026) Rescue 1122 Lakki Marwat responded promptly to 169 emergencies of different types the last week, providing timely assistance and saving valuable lives.

According to spokesman, during this period, the rescue teams, led by District Emergency Officer Bilal Afridi, remained alert and ensured the provision of emergency services at the doorsteps of the citizens.

While citing the weekly performance report, he said the Rescue 1122 received a total of 3,111 calls during the week. Out of these, 1,549 were fake or non-emergency calls, while 1,394 were informational in nature.

Rescue officials reported that the emergencies included 139 medical cases, 14 road traffic accidents, and 6 incidents involving fights and gunshot injuries.

During these emergencies, a total of 167 patients were safely shifted to hospitals, while several others were provided first aid on the spot.

Moreover, under the referral service, Rescue 1122 responded to 62 emergencies. Among these, 11 patients were shifted within the district, while 51 were transferred from one district to another.

Overall, 66 patients benefited from this referral service, he informed.

Meanwhile, the Rescue officials have urged people to avoid misuse of the emergency helpline so that timely assistance could be ensured for those in genuine need.
